DONNA: Is that what you said to her? Your friend, the one you lost, did she trust you?
DOCTOR: Yes she did and she is not dead, she is so alive.. now jump!

#oh my god he has tears in his eyes alsdfjkalskjdf

oh my GOD you’re right.

my heart is broken

This part always gets to me because you can see it in the Doctor’s eyes, there is a part of him that is trying to convince himself. He knows Rose is alive but she just feels so dead, she’s not with him and he will never be able to see her again. In some ways it is worse than death and the Doctor needs to convince himself that his Rose is still alive, safe and sound in an alternate dimension.

Not only that, but with so alive he’s also trying to convince himself that Rose is going to find some kind of happiness in Pete’s universe, that she’s going to move on with her life and be a world-saving BAMF and find love again. That her life isn’t over just because they’ve been separated. And he’s trying to convince himself that his own life isn’t over, either.

#Cas’ life makes me so sad #because he was perfectly happy being a good little soldier #and sure occasionally he had some doubts #but he never let them interfere #but then he meets this man #this insignificant mortal #who convinces him to give it all up #who gets under his skin and makes him doubt everything #and he falls for him in more ways than one #and Cas keeps giving and giving and giving and his life goes to shit #all because of this insignificant human being #but even when Cas regrets the things he’s done and the guilt weighs him down until he can’t bear it #even then he can’t bring himself to regret meeting Dean #after all that he /thanks him/ #because freedom is a length of rope #but love is what keeps it from killing you (x)
